| Over the summer period Ionel worked very hard turning an under stairs space into two new toilets for the class in the church balcony. The new toilets are now complete apart from the seats. New laws insist on self cleaning seat units which are currently on order but have not yet arrived. Many thanks to those who contributed to get this project finished over the summer holiday period. |

Group one are four years old and have morning class in the basement classroom. They are normal, lively children who enjoy their lessons and love their teacher.Even this group was able to greet us with a "good morning" and "see you soon" in English, when we visited. |

Group two is in the balcony classroom in the mornings. Group three uses the balcony classroom in the afternoons. While we were in Siret group three had been learning where our food comes from. They had seen maize growing in the fields, then one day they went on a visit to the mill to see it being ground into meal. The next day they made some mamalega (a sort of maize porridge) and boiled eggs, which they then ate with a garlic paste. This is a typical meal for this area of Romania. |

Even though the authorities can find no fault with the kindy or the teaching they came up with a problem in October when Cornel went to register again. They are saying that the law does not allow children to go to kindy in the afternoon, only in the morning.There are many other kindys that have afternoon classes, including the one that we know at Talmaciu. Please pray that this will be sorted out soon, in a way which is honourable to God, without a 'gift' to the officials, so that there is no hindrance to the work of the kindy, and Cornel's stress levels will be reduced. |
